Offers of more than £3m are being asked for a Lake District country hotel. The 29-bed Ryebeck Hotel, on Lyth Valley Road, Windermere, comes with five acres of land, a restaurant and bar.

Built in 1904, the former private residence was called the Fayrer Garden hotel and is owned by royal shoemakers, the Wildsmith family, who bought the property in 2004. The hotel closed for business at the end of 2021

Julian Troup, head of UK hotels agency at Colliers said: “The Ryebeck is a high-profile and prestigious country house hotel located in a prime part of the Lake District National Park, offering unrivalled views over Lake Windermere. Its renowned status means we are confident of attracting strong interest from a diverse range of prospective buyers.”
