Original Works has appointed Legendre UK as the main contractor for the redevelopment of the 10 Salisbury Square office building in London.

The six-storey building will undergo a major upgrade to create 54,000 sq ft of office space, best-in-class amenities and multiple roof terraces. The scheme, known as Oriel St Bride’s, will also feature a striking oriel window with views of the Grade I listed St Bride’s Church.

The project will retain 90% of the existing structure and employ low carbon construction techniques. Legendre UK is targeting BREEAM Outstanding and NABERS 5* ratings for the redevelopment.

Orginal Works’ joint venture partner Simten is acting as development manager for the project, with completion scheduled for autumn 2027.

Helen Sears, development associate at Simten, said: “This is a tremendous project milestone for Oriel St Bride’s. We are committed to delivering a scheme that reflects our ambition for lasting sustainability, innovation and progressive, best-in-class design. We look forward to welcoming Legendre to the project team and delivering a fantastic building together.”

Thomas Vandecasteele, managing director of Legendre UK, said: “We are delighted to be working with Original Works on the construction of 10 Salisbury Square. This appointment reflects Legendre UK’s recognised strength in delivering technically demanding cut-and-carve projects in some of London’s most sensitive and constrained locations.

“This project combines our expertise in complex refurbishments and industry-leading sustainability credentials with our self-delivery MEP strategy. We look forward to working with the wider team to bring forward a scheme that sets a high standard for sustainable office delivery in the City, while also making a meaningful contribution to the surrounding community.”
