CBRE Investment Management has leased 3,600 sq ft to Maven Leisure at Angel Central for a sports pub and kitchen concept called ‘Northwood’.
The venue will have 12 ultra high definition screens and show sporting action from around the world when it opens in September. It will have 176 covers and serve a classic range of sports bar food, such as burgers and pizzas.
Ed Martin, CEO of ETM Group and Maven Leisure, London, said: “We’re really excited about opening Northwood, Islington’s first dedicated sports bar. The area has been on our radar for quite some time now as it’s a borough full of bustling young professionals and families, which suits the demographic for our premium sports pubs and kitchens.
“The space at Angel Central will ensure we’re front and centre with a range of visitors come day or night. We are looking forward to opening the doors in early September in time for the Rugby World Cup and bringing our premium dining and sports experience to the local community; sports fans, families, and the like.”
Louisa Butters, head of retail asset management UK at CBRE Investment Management, said: “The signing of Northwood marks a significant moment for Angel Central, further enhancing the scheme’s day-to-night appeal and complementing the existing leisure and F&B operators we have on the first floor.
“Since the refurbishment, our aim has been to deliver an enriched visitor experience. Building on ETM Group’s ever-popular portfolio of locations across the capital, Northwood fits seamlessly with our vision for the scheme, cementing our position as a prime retail and leisure destination in Islington.”
Maven Leisure and ETM Group dealt direct. CBRE and Colliers represented Angel Central.
