Nash Bond has pulled off a deal on a retail unit in London in just a week – defying sluggish market conditions.

The consultancy was appointed by an undisclosed institutional investor to market the 1,000 sq ft property at 35 Marylebone High Street after home and body cosmetics brand Rituals exercised a lease break.

There was so much demand for the unit that it went to best bids and luxury French perfume house Diptyque was selected, signing a 10-year lease with a five-year break. It took just seven days from the bid from Diptyque being accepted to exchange.

Nash Bond executive director John Lyons said: “While some properties in some sectors and locations might be taking longer to find tenants at the moment, this deal goes to show that the right product in the right location will continue to attract strong occupier interest.”
