A new industry group has launched to “enhance best practice and drive demand” for digital buildings.
The not-for-profit Digital Buildings Council (DBC) has been founded by a group of industry specialists to break down “silos” and provide “the necessary clarity and assurance to help fulfil the potential of digital buildings”.
The DBC believes the growth of the digital buildings market is currently constrained by uncertainty and there is a “significant risk” that it will not fulfil its potential.
The council has identified a number of key issues it believes need to be addressed and it will form “agile” working groups to fill the gaps in existing frameworks, enhance best practices and drive “industry-wide improvement for the common good”.
Justin Kirby has been appointed as chief advocacy officer and interim chair to provide unbiased support to the council.
