The new UK living platform led by purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) pioneer Tim Butler has appointed Johnny Langton as head of operations.
Langton (pictured) has more than 12 years of real estate experience and joins the unnamed living platform from Greystar where he held leadership roles across the firm’s European platform, including responsibility for the UK student business before taking on a Europe-wide role. Langton also previously served as interim managing director of Student Roost, which was founded by Butler.
The platform intends to become one of the top five operators of UK rental homes in the next five years and is supported by Australia’s biggest pension fund, AustralianSuper.
Butler said: “Our focus is on creating a market leading living platform that is grounded in a commitment to high quality customer service. There is a clear market opportunity to create a brand that people want to stay with throughout each stage of the rental cycle. Johnny’s track record in driving customer experience and culture will be a key part of achieving that.”
Langton added: “Having spent the past few years working across multiple European markets, I’ve seen first-hand how residents’ needs are evolving and the importance of building a platform that places the customer experience at the core of what it does. Bringing that experience into a UK-focused role is a really exciting opportunity. Tim has laid a strong foundation and set a clear direction for the platform’s growth, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to build long-term, customer satisfaction as a result.”
