Apsley (Gartloch), a wholly-owned subsidiary of property developer Apsley House Capital, has tabled proposals for a residential-led development on at a 49-hectare site at Gartloch Farm, neighbouring Easterhouse in Glasgow’s East End.
In addition to new homes, the neighbourhood will feature retail and community facilities and an improved network of formal and informal green spaces, including allotments.
Apsley (Gartloch) has submitted a proposal of application notice (PAN) to Glasgow City Council and other key stakeholders, which signifies the formal notice of intent to submit an application for planning permission in principle (PPiP) following a minimum 12-week period of consultation.
A spokesperson for Apsley (Gartloch) said: “We are delighted to be bringing forward these landscape-led proposals, which will progress a site allocated in Glasgow’s local development plan and assist the city in tackling the housing emergency and deliver a strong sense of community. In addition to new housing, our proposals will also include a new mixed-use neighbourhood centre potentially comprising shops, cafes, restaurants and other commercial uses, supporting this new housing.
“Our ethos is for a landscape-led development which sensitively improves biodiversity and the natural environment. In tandem, if approved, the project will form a significant part of Glasgow’s NPF4 goal of delivering 21,350 homes to tackle the emergency over the next 10 years. Through the consultation process, we are looking forward to receiving input from the local community, who will play a vital role in shaping our proposals.”
