Premcor Estates (Premcor) has secured planning permission for a dedicated roadside development as its 45-acre Rossington site near Doncaster.
Premcor has agreed a deal with The Brookfield Group to operate a petrol filling station with an EV hub featuring 12 high power charging points at the development, with Costa signing for a drive-thru coffee shop facility.
McDonald’s has also purchased its own plot for a drive-thru restaurant at the development, which will serve as an amenity hub for the rapidly growing area.
Simon Hawkins, director of Premcor, said: “The successful completion of this roadside scheme is a vital component of our wider vision for Mode 18. By providing high quality food, beverage and fuelling amenities, we are directly supporting the growing Rossington residential population alongside the needs of the thousands of workers at iPort plus the surrounding industrial estate. This is a prime, rapidly growing location with exceptional road, rail and air links, so these new retail outlets will fill a significant gap in the local market.”
Aziz Patel, managing partner at The Brookfield Group, added: “We are delighted to have partnered with Premcor on this roadside scheme. It has been a pleasure to work with Simon and his team on such a hands-on basis and we look forward to exploring future opportunities together. Our investment reflects our commitment to delivering the modern infrastructure required by the next generation of logistics and roadside users.”
Annie Newman, from McDonald’s, said: “The Rossington site is an ideal location to serve both residents and visitors. We’re confident that the local community will recognise the value of greater choice, and the benefits of having a reliable and convenient restaurant from a recognised brand serving food at reasonable prices. We are eager to get the build underway as soon as the plots are ready in late summer and look forward to welcoming customers.”
Jacob Goodliffe, from Costa, added: “We are excited to bring a new Costa drive-thru to this strategic location. As the surrounding logistics and industrial sectors continue to expand, we see huge potential for a high quality coffee offering that caters to the busy professionals and drivers operating in and around the iPort area.”
