Redrow and Jones Homes have acquired a 25-acre residential development site in south west Macclesfield.

Redrow will build 99 new properties on the northern part of the site and Jones Homes will build 117 homes on the southern parcel. The development will provide 30% affordable housing.

Infrastructure works are scheduled to commence in early autumn with construction of the new homes expected to begin next year.

Gareth Stansfield, land director at Redrow NW, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to deliver much-needed, high quality sustainable family housing in a desirable semi-rural setting. The development will help address housing need in south west Macclesfield and deliver wide-ranging benefits for the local community, including significant contributions to local education, healthcare, and recreation infrastructure.

“Taken from our sought-after arts and crafts-inspired Heritage Collection, our properties will feature bespoke elevations designed to reflect the local vernacular and sustainable features including air source heat pumps.”

Luke Jones, land director at Jones Homes, added: “After more than 30 years of promoting this land for development as part of the wider South West Macclesfield Development Area, we are thrilled to commence on this first phase and advance Jones Homes’ presence in Macclesfield with another, high quality residential site, which will consist of two- to four-bedroom houses in a range of mews, semi-detached and detached designs.”

Carter Jonas acted on behalf of the land owner on the sale.
