The Crown Estate appoints new board counsellor

The Crown Estate has appointed Peter Hofbauer as a board counsellor with effect from 1 September 2024.

Hofbauer, who has an extensive track record in infrastructure investment and management, is currently a member of the infrastructure investment committee at Interfund Management SA. 

He has previously worked for Hermes GPE where he served as head of infrastructure and prior to that he was global head of infrastructure for Babcock and Brown.

Sir Robin Budenberg, chair of The Crown Estate, said: “I am delighted to welcome Peter to The Crown Estate board at such an exciting time for the company. Peter brings with him a wealth of experience across infrastructure investment and senior executive leadership that is pivotal to our decarbonisation and energy ambitions, as well as being an effective ally to our core values including efforts to foster greater diversity and inclusion in the workplace. His experience with real assets means he will bring an understanding of their impact on communities and customers. I look forward to working with Peter.”

Hofbauer added: “I am delighted to take up this position on The Crown Estate board.
