Hybrid hospitality brand The Social Hub is opening its debut UK site in Glasgow in April.

The Amsterdam-based company is opening a 20,000 sq m (circa 215,000 sq ft) hotel in the city, offering 494 hotel, student and extended stay rooms, co-working space for up to 222 people, meeting rooms, an auditorium, gym, restaurant and bar.

The site will be the brand’s 19th in Europe and it is currently looking for new sites in key UK cities with a particular focus on London (zones one to two), Manchester and Edinburgh.

Charlie MacGregor, CEO and founder of The Social Hub, said: “The Social Hub Glasgow is an exciting development that will create a whole new dynamic area for the city centre. As pioneers in the hybrid hospitality industry, I am excited to see the social impact our Glasgow Hub will bring to the community through our spaces and experiences, ones that blur the boundaries of traditional hospitality offerings through our relentless ambition to create a better society, together with all those who walk through our doors. On a personal note, I am extremely proud to be launching The Social Hub in the country I grew up in.

“This is just the beginning for the UK. We are actively looking for new sites and welcome conversations with landowners, potential partners and local authorities who appreciate our purpose-driven vision and understand the value that hybrid hospitality can create.”
