TT Group has received planning permission for the redevelopment of an underutilised former BT car park in Watford town centre into 89 new homes, following a successful planning appeal.
Watford Borough Council initially refused the company’s plans to build the new homes spread over buildings of five to eight storeys, in May 2023.
In addition to the residential component, the scheme, which is situated between Wellstones and Exchange Road, will also provide 95 sq m (circa 1,000 sq ft) of new ground floor commercial space.
Steve Akeju, senior development manager at TT Group, said: “Following the success of our appeal, we look forward to seeing this development come to fruition and contribute quality new homes and commercial space to Watford town centre. We are now considering the next steps and best approach for bringing the site forward in the future.”
