Tungsten Properties has secured a 17-acre site with planning permission to build a 300,000 sq ft national distribution centre for Lathams in East Anglia.
The national distributor of timber, panels and decorative surfaces approached Tungsten to find a new distribution facility for the company last summer.
Tungsten has been appointed as development manager and Glencar Construction will build the new £38.5m facility with completion targeted for summer 2026.
Piers Latham, director at Lathams, said: “This is the biggest investment in Lathams’ 268-year history. It will facilitate growth, supplying all our 13 depots nationally while creating jobs in the East Angla region. Ian and his team at Tungsten were challenged with finding us a suitable site to develop and came back with an excellent solution.”
Ian Dunckley, development director at Tungsten Properties, added: “We are very pleased to have secured the land and planning consent in East Anglia on behalf of Lathams. We are looking forward to delivering their state-of-the-art new national distribution centre in a strategic location as they continue their impressive business growth.”
Wedlake Bell acted on behalf of Lathams and Coke Gearing acted for Tungsten. The professional team comprises HTC Architects, Goodrich Consulting, PRP Consulting Engineers, The Engineering Practice and Eddison Planning.
