Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) has let 36,000 sq ft in the former Debenhams unit at Westfield London to a theatre company.
Capital Theatre has signed an initial 10-year lease on the ground floor space and the venue will launch in October next year with a production of Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage.
The 620-seat venue will be operated by Adam Kenwright and his company Kindred Partners, in partnership with producer Karl Sydow.
Westfield London’s Capital Theatre will feature state-of-the-art backstage facilities, premium rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms and creative and technical spaces, with food and drink served throughout the day at the foyer café. An onsite box office and merchandise store will be open seven days a week.
