US-based Phenix Salon Suites is targeting the opening of 50 sites by 2030 for a salon concept new to the UK.
The company, which has more than 300 locations in the US, provides salon professionals with private suites of varying sizes to operate their own businesses and create their own brand.
Phenix Salon Suites is looking to expand into Canada and western Europe and has retained Colliers in the UK to locate suitable sites. The company opened its first UK site at 1 Deansgate Manchester in October 2021 and says there is currently a waiting list for suites.
It is looking for freehold or leasehold locations of between 3,500-5,000 sq ft with minimum ceiling heights of 3m, good natural light, out of business access hours and the ability to make up to 10 ‘penetrations’ in the floor to allow for drainage.
Tom Cullen, director in the retail team at Colliers, said: “We are excited to be on board with such an innovative concept as we’ve started to see demand from consumers for health and beauty retailers to provide a more diverse offering and we believe that Phenix Salon Suites provides that solution to the way the market is inevitably heaving.
“As the hair and beauty industry is currently valued at £6.6bn in the UK and is only set to thrive in the future, this level of demand is reflected in our clients’ development goal of 50 sites by 2030.
“The key to our success will be providing the right space for a variety of different occupiers to curate a vibrant hub of activity and experiences for their consumers.”
