Vistry Group has acquired a parcel of land with planning consent for 149 new family homes in Bulkington, near Bedworth, for an undisclosed price.
The company will work in partnership with Orbit Homes to deliver 74 affordable properties for shared ownership, social rent and affordable rent on the 16-acre site on Coventry Road.
The St James Gate development will comprise a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, many of which will be manufactured off-site using open panel timber frames from the Vistry Works East Midlands factory in Leicestershire.
Paul Stafford, managing director of Vistry South Central Midlands, said: “We are excited to acquire this land and forge this deal with Orbit Homes that will see much-needed family homes delivered in Bulkington and create a well-balanced community which will help drive economic growth in the area.

Warwickshire has a real shortage of open-market and affordable family homes and that’s something we’re aiming to address in collaboration with Orbit Homes, sharing the government’s ambition to deliver new homes at scale and pace. We’re already working together with Orbit Homes on other sites in the region and are pleased to extend our relationship, providing new affordable homes in this excellent location.”
