Lidl is selling an office redevelopment opportunity at 19 Worple Road in Wimbledon, for an undisclosed amount.
The company has appointed Savills to market the 0.39 acre site, which is located in the town centre within 160m of Wimbledon train and underground station.
The existing 47,000 sq ft office building is vacant and the site has planning consent for a new eight-storey, Grade A office scheme of approximately 79,000 sq ft.
James Vivian, director in the office investment team at Savills, said: “The flight to quality remains evident within occupier demand, primarily seeking staff amenity, informal working areas and creative health and wellbeing facilities.
“Wimbledon has established itself as a highly attractive office market within London and the South East, but the lack of this best-in-class space is driving up rents and presents a great opportunity for an investor to create an ESG-led Grade A office building which the market desperately needs.
“Additionally, with most of the investor demand concentrated on green and sustainable buildings the completed project offers the opportunity to achieve a premium in the investment market.”
