The Mayfield Partnership has released updated plans for the Mayfield neighbourhood in Manchester, which will see two of the “most sustainable new office buildings in the city” delivered.
The partnership, which is a collaboration between Landsec U+I, Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and LCR, said the new plans reflect the “shift towards premium, sustainable office space in the very best locations”.
Phase 1 of Mayfield features 320,000 sq ft of Grade A office space across two buildings – The Poulton and The Republic. The partnership said the reworked plans outline targets of 600kg CO2 per m2 driven by lower embodied carbon emissions “achieved by innovative building techniques and new, lower impact materials”.
An existing multi-storey car park on the site will be redeveloped into a multi-use building featuring cycle parking for more than 400 bicycles. The car park will also feature ground floor cafés, bars, restaurants, and event spaces.
