RED Construction Group has been appointed to deliver the £31m office redevelopment of 55 Pall Mall in London. The existing buildings will be demolished to basement level to make way for a high quality new building with a net internal area of 3,271 sq m.
The Pall Mall façade will be retained and renovated, with sections being dismantled from the site to be cleaned and stored before reinstallation. The new construction uses cross laminated timber floor slabs and RED said the upfront embodied carbon is expected to be below 550kg CO2e/m2, which meets the LETI/GLA 2030 target of 600 CO2e/m2.
