Gaw Capital UK has let 95,628 sq ft of office space at 4 and 5 HX in London’s Docklands to the University of Sunderland on a 15-year lease.
The University of Sunderland was an existing tenant of HX – formerly known as Harbour Exchange – having taken 9,559 sq ft at the scheme back in 2012.
Kevin Koo, of Gaw Capital UK, said: “The University of Sunderland taking more space at HX, further vindicates the quality of Harbour Exchange, both as an office and educational campus. It also confirms the strong appetite for Grade A office space in a fantastic location with excellent transport links, at rents far lower than those found in the West End, City and other fringe locations.”
Josh Lamb, director in Savills City agency team, which acted for the landlord on the letting, added: “HX is already home to a vibrant collection of occupiers whose employees enjoy its waterside location and views, and we’re pleased to have let a further 95,628 sq ft to the University of Sunderland. This was a unique opportunity to secure nine acres of private educational space in London, which provides such a high-quality environment to promote work and study. This letting is testament to the continuing appeal of the mature Docklands sub-market.”
