Regal London has received planning permission to add two storeys of Grade A office space at the 173,000 sq ft The Clarendon Works office development in Watford town centre.

The building, which will also include nearly 14,000 sq ft of amenity space consisting of a ground floor cafe, roof terrace with a private bar, gym and fitness suite, has achieved an ActiveScore Platinum rating and is targeting BREEAM Excellent and WiredScore Platinum. Regal London is also targeting WELL Platinum.

Paul Eden, co-founder of Regal London said: “The Clarendon Works sets a new standard in Watford, providing Grade A office space in the town centre and topping the charts for sustainability accreditations. I’m thrilled that Watford Borough Council has recognised that the Regal London customary design excellence and quality will serve to enhance the town centre and is attracting occupiers to this prime office location.”

During construction the site will host the first Regal London Real Estate Academy, which will train 80 former members of the military and local people each year.

Regal London intends to launch a second academy at a student accommodation site in Brent and the developer estimates the two academies will collectively generate nearly £5m of social value per year using the National TOMS social value framework.
