Columbia Threadneedle Real Estate has received approval for the redevelopment of Brookmount Court in Cambridge into a best-in-class life sciences facility.
Geo Cambridge will provide approximately 9,900 sq m (circa 107,000 sq ft) of accommodation across basement, ground and four upper floors.
Brookmount Court, which is located immediately south of Cambridge Science Park, comprises three sparsely occupied 1980s office buildings.
Columbia Threadneedle Real Estate is targeting BREEAM Outstanding for the redevelopment, which it says will embrace the highest design standards to minimise embodied carbon through the use of low-carbon construction materials. It will also utilise renewable energy technologies and minimise water consumption.

We are delighted that the application was unanimously approved by Cambridge City Council’s planning committee, with members being especially supportive of the leading accessible and sustainable design.”
The project team comprises Fairhursts Design Group (FDG), Quod, Kanda Consulting, Pollyanna Wilkinson Garden Design and Vectos.
