NPL Group has put 430 acres of strategic land in Northwich, Cheshire, on the market.

The portfolio comprises four sites offering significant potential to promote an employment development of regional importance within a single consolidated ownership.

Part of the portfolio includes a site to the north of Lostock Gralam, which offers the potential for the extension of the existing residential settlement.

Large tracts of the landholding were previously identified as employment allocations in the draft local plan but were removed as a result of safeguarding for HS2. The removal of HS2 safeguarding returns this land as a viable and deliverable strategic opportunity.

Kieran McLaughlin, senior director at CBRE, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “This is a landmark and rare opportunity to purchase landholding of this scale and potential and we are inviting offers for either individual sites or on a portfolio basis. With the removal of HS2 safeguarding coupled with the local authority’s announcement to undertake a local plan review, this signals a key opening for acquisition and development of these sites.”
