An historic former school located opposite the Oval cricket ground in London is being sold at auction with a guide price of £4.5m+.
Archbishop Tenison’s School dates back to 1685 when Dr Thomas Tenison founded a grammar school and library in Westminster. The school relocated to the Oval site in 1928 and the new building was opened by the Prince of Wales, who later became King Edward VIII.
The school closed its doors last summer due to falling student numbers. Allsop and Rapleys have been appointed to market the school and anticipate fierce bidding at the online auction on 17 July.
