MEPC has unveiled plans for the extensive upgrade and comprehensive refurbishment of 2 Wellington Place in Leeds.
The plans will see 119,154 sq ft of Grade A office space upgraded to create a highly energy efficient office. MEPC is targeting an EPC A rating and BREEAM Refurbishment Excellent accreditation for the refurbishment.
In addition to a refurbished reception area and new business lounge, the building will also include changing facilities with 15 showers and 140 lockers, a cycle maintenance hub and 152 secure bike storage spaces. The refurbishment programme will begin in 2025 and will be completed in summer 2026.
Miles Jones, development director at MEPC, said: “We’re passionate about constructing high-quality, industry leading office space that is at the forefront of sustainability and design. Alongside new build developments, retrofitting plays an extremely important part in creating buildings for the future.
“This is why we’re excited to be investing in one of the first buildings constructed at Wellington Place. Two Wellington Place will serve as a first-class example of successful, sustainable refurbishment. It will align with the exceptional calibre of our new builds, both from a sustainability perspective, and high-standard interior design, and we’re looking forward to welcoming new occupiers.”
