Hertshten Properties (UK) has submitted updated plans for the redevelopment of 85 Gracechurch Street in the City of London.
The company initially secured planning permission to deliver a 32-storey commercial building on the site in October 2023.
The revised plans for a 30-storey development will incorporate a public exhibition space celebrating the remains of the first Roman Basilica of London, which were uncovered on the site.
The development will also include an extension of Leadenhall Market, featuring flexible retail and event space, a new public link into Leadenhall Market and a public viewing deck at Level 05.
Hertshten Properties (UK) is targeting BREEAM Outstanding, an EPC A rating and NABERS UK 5.5*.

The project team includes Shaw Corporation, Gardiner & Theobald and Woods Bagot. If the planning application is approved, full excavations on the site will take place, which may reveal further details on the construction and interior of the Roman Basilica.
