Corstorphine & Wright has been appointed as delivery architect for LS Estate’s redevelopment of the 5 Chancery Lane office scheme in London.
The practice has been brought on board by the main contractor to take the scheme through to completion, building on the original concept by Foggo Associates.
The redevelopment includes significant demolition and reconstruction of the upper floors, a complete reconfiguration of internal layouts, and sensitive alterations to the original façades. The 100,000 sq ft building will feature a three-storey rooftop extension, spanning the fifth to seventh floors, and a new landscaped roof terrace.
Rowan Jenkins, managing director – development at LS Estates, said: “This appointment marks an exciting milestone for the development as we move into the next phase of design and closer to completion. 5 Chancery Lane represents the next generation of offices that combines heritage buildings with modern sustainability requirements. Corstorphine & Wright is well equipped to realise that vision with us.”
Marek Sroka, associate director at Corstorphine & Wright, added: “We’re thrilled to be working on 5 Chancery Lane. It’s a fantastic opportunity to help bring forward a scheme with real architectural quality and commercial ambition. Our role is to honour the vision while bringing our expertise to bear in delivering a scheme that meets today’s technical and sustainability standards and creates real long-term value.”
