The River & Rowing Museum in Henley-on-Thames has been put up for sale for £3m.
The museum, which opened in 1998 and closed to the public in September this year, comprises two separate buildings of 25,062 sq ft and 10,627 sq ft, linked by a glass and concrete footbridge.
Designed by David Chipperfield Architects, it fronts on to Mill Meadows and the River Thames and includes three gallery spaces, a café, education centre and offices.
Richard Venables, senior director at CBRE Oxford, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “The sale of this iconic property opens a wealth of possibilities for its future use. It is ideal for reuse as another gallery, or potentially other uses including education, recreation or offices, subject to planning. The building is close to Heathrow and London, making it ideal for an international buyer.”
