HUB has submitted plans for the redevelopment of the Finsgate House site in Hackney.
Designed by AHMM, the scheme will replace the three outdated office buildings with 490 homes, approximately 4,000 sq m of workspace, a community space and enhanced public realm.
The proposed development comprises two buildings of 35 and five storeys. The taller, western building will house the scheme’s residential element, while the eastern building will offer Grade A workspace, with 10% of workspace designated affordable and made available to small and medium size businesses in the area. A flexible community hub has also been incorporated into the ground floor of the building to serve local groups.
Damien Sharkey, managing director of HUB, said: “Finsgate House presents an opportunity for HUB to build on our ultra-urban living strategy. With these proposals, we are committed to creating a high quality scheme that allows new and existing communities to enjoy living and working in the heart of this vibrant, connected neighbourhood, complemented by thoughtfully designed public spaces and accessible amenities that bring lasting value.”
