Bayerische Hausbau Real Estate Group (BHRE Group) has completed the acquisition of its first UK commercial asset in London’s West End from Wendover.
The Munich-based real estate asset management company has purchased a prime office and retail building at 7–8 Conduit Street for an undisclosed price.
The building, which was comprehensively refurbished last year, is let to a strong line-up of tenants and has secured an EPC A rating.
BHRE Group, which currently manages more than €3bn in commercial, residential and hospitality assets, primarily in central Munich, is focusing on acquiring prime assets in London to complement its existing portfolio in Germany, which comprises a mix of modern and heritage buildings.
Marcel Wnendt, CEO of BHRE Group, said: “This acquisition represents a major step in our international strategy. We’ve been monitoring London for some time and remain convinced of its enduring position as a global hub for business, innovation and real estate. For us, it’s not just about geography – it’s about accessing a market that complements Munich while providing the diversification a modern portfolio demands. We are entering with a long-term view and will be growing our London footprint cautiously but deliberately, focusing on quality above all.”
Gabriel Chipperfield, co-founder of Wendover, added: “7-8 Conduit Street demonstrates the strength of Wendover’s integrated design and development model, allowing us to move more nimbly, design more contextually, and execute with greater precision than traditional approaches. The result is both an aesthetic and commercial success. We look forward to applying this expertise across London and beyond.”
Oliver Bamber, UK board director, Central London and international investment at Savills who advised on the deal, said: “London continues to attract global capital thanks to its maturity, transparency and stability. The BHRE Group’s entrance into this market reflects a highly strategic and thoughtful approach to cross-border investment. It has been a pleasure working with the Group on its first UK acquisition.”
