Caerphilly County Borough Council has launched the search for a development partner for a £40m mixed-use regeneration project in Caerphilly.
The proposed development will create a modern and vibrant place to work, live and play on 1.26 acres of land in the heart of the town centre.
In collaboration with Stride Treglown, the council has suggested the project may include an 80 to 100-bed hotel, alongside 48 residential apartments, a flexible event space for conferences or weddings, and eight commercial units for food and retail stores.
Gareth Watts, associate in Knight Frank’s regional land, planning and development consultancy team in Cardiff, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “On behalf of Caerphilly Council, we are seeking a development partner with the vision, track record and necessary resources to deliver an outstanding and imaginative scheme for the town. The development proposal demonstrates the deliverability of the council’s aspiration for a new hotel as part of a high quality mixed-use development in the town centre that aligns with the council’s ambitious Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan.”
