Vistry Group has secured planning consent for more than 350 homes at Finchwood Park in Wokingham.
The company has forward sold two parcels of land to Man Group’s community housing team on which 161 homes comprising one- to four-bedroom apartments and houses across social rent, affordable rent and shared ownership tenures, will be built.
Two other parcels of land – parcels 6 and 13 – have also been granted planning approval and will be brought forward as part of later phases of the development.
Parcel 6 will provide 140 homes, with 91 for private sale and 49 affordable through Bovis Homes, and Parcel 13 will provide 56 homes, of which 20 will be affordable.
The development will also include public open spaces, allotments, sports pitches, a pavilion and a neighbourhood centre.
Trevor Wicks, managing director for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “Securing planning approval for these parcels is a key milestone for Finchwood Park and reflects the strong progress we’re making in bringing forward a mix of tenures to meet local housing needs. As our first timber-frame site in the Thames Valley, this represents a step change in how we’re able to deliver homes quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality or placemaking.”
