Food producer Greencore has signed for a new 40,000 sq ft office at the 300,000 sq ft Broad Gate mixed-use development in Leeds city centre.

The company has agreed a 15-year lease at the scheme with a 10-year break. Broad Gate comprises Grade A office space, an exclusive suite of penthouse offices and four prime retail units.

Alex Eshelby, head of transformation projects at Greencore, said: “Broad Gate already gives us a fantastic base in Leed and this investment reflects our long-term commitment on making it even better for our colleagues – creating a space that brings people together, supports teamwork and helps strengthen connections across the business.”

Eamon Fox, partner and head of Knight Frank’s Leeds office, which acted for Greencore on the letting: “Greencore’s decision to open an office in Leeds is a powerful vote of confidence in the city’s energy, ambition, and potential. Leeds is a place where talent thrives, ideas accelerate and businesses can truly take flight. By choosing Leeds, Greencore isn’t just expanding its footprint; it’s becoming part of a vibrant community that’s shaping the future of the UK economy.

“This move will bring hundreds of highly talented people to work, live, contribute, and enjoy our vibrant city. This level of investment is a genuine catalyst for growth, socially, economically and culturally.”

Stephen Kelly, partner at HKIP and asset manager at Broad Gate, said: “This letting to Greencore is a significant endorsement of Broad Gate and reflects the continued investment we have made to enhance the building’s offer. We are committed to providing best-in-class space that meets the evolving needs of occupiers, and Greencore’s decision highlights the strength of Leeds as a major UK business location.”

Roddy Morrison, director in the national offices team at Colliers, which advised the landlord on the deal, added: “This transaction represents one of the most significant office lettings in Leeds over the past year and underlines the continued demand for high quality, well-located space. Broad Gate continues to attract leading occupiers, and this deal further reinforces its position as one of the city’s premier office destinations.”
