London Square is partnering with housing association Aster Group to deliver 60 homes for social rent in the final phase of the redevelopment of the former Rich Industrial Estate in Bermondsey.
The 4.7-acre former industrial site was once home to a tannery and the Crosse & Blackwell pickle factory, which lay vacant for almost 60 years.
Across the mixed-use neighbourhood, London Square has already delivered 276 homes and 14,000 sq ft of commercial space through the restoration and conversion of a collection of heritage buildings, and in this final phase, the developer will deliver a further 183 new homes.

At Bermondsey, this final phase will bring forward 60 homes for social rent as part of a wider mixed-use neighbourhood on a complex brownfield site that had been vacant for decades. We look forward to continuing our work in Southwark, including the delivery of a further 338 homes for social rent at The Biscuit Factory, in partnership with Greystar and registered provider Square Roots.”
