Cluttons has appointed Nigel Matthews as a partner and head of structural engineering.

Matthews, who has more than 35 years’ experience, was at Couch Consulting in Aylesbury prior to joining Cluttons.

In his new role, he will lead and grow Cluttons’ structural engineering team, strengthen the firm’s energy sector work, and expand its expertise into more traditional structural engineering.

John Gravett, CEO of Cluttons, said: “Nigel’s appointment is an important step in growing our energy consultancy team. Demand for specialist engineering expertise continues to grow, driven by the UK’s energy transition, investment in infrastructure and the need to deliver sustainable, high-quality developments across the sector. His specialist expertise and business acumen will further strengthen the advice we provide to clients across the country.”

Matthews added: “Cluttons has built a strong reputation for excellence in energy consultancy, and I’m excited to be joining the business at a time of continued growth. There is significant demand for structural engineering expertise, and I look forward to working with colleagues across the business to support our clients and help grow our structural engineering and energy consultancy offering.”
