Areli Group and Tikehau Capital have secured planning consent for the £500m redevelopment of the Nicholson Shopping Centre in Maidenhead.

The mixed-use development will provide 755 new homes and 101 senior living homes in addition to office and workspace, more than 55 new shops, bars and restaurants and more than 1.65 acres of public realm.

The redevelopment of the shopping centre will also feature new trees, a modern town centre car park with EV charging and improved pedestrian and cycle connections.

Rob Tincknell, founder and CEO of Areli, said: “We are thrilled to receive another large scale, unanimous planning consent in quick succession to Brentford. The Nicholson’s Quarter planning permission is the culmination of five years hard work and is the second of four significant residentially-led projects that the Areli Group are progressing through planning at the moment. In total, the projects will deliver over 3,000 new homes and over 1m sq ft of commercial space. The proposals will deliver a new, truly mixed-use town centre for Maidenhead.”
