The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) has put the freehold of 12-14 Bloomsbury Square in London up for sale with a guide price of £9.5m.

The three adjoining former townhouse buildings provide 12,299 sq ft of Class E accommodation arranged over lower ground, ground and three upper floors in addition to two outdoor courtyard spaces.

Currently occupied by the Ciarb, the freehold properties are being marketed as vacant upon completion and could potentially suit a wide range of alternative uses, including living, embassy, private members club or hotel.

The properties also offer the scope for additional massing with an initial feasibility study suggesting a 6,000 sq ft two-floor extension could be possible, subject to the necessary planning consents and approvals.

Tim Mantle, director in the London capital markets team at Colliers, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “12-14 Bloomsbury Square offers a rare opportunity to acquire a classic piece of London real estate in the heart of bustling Bloomsbury. With excellent transport links, prominent frontage onto the square and classic Georgian features, the property has enormous potential and provides a fantastic opportunity for an investor to create real value in Central London.”
