Creative studio Bompas & Parr has been appointed to deliver the Museum of Shakespeare at The Stage mixed-use development in Shoreditch.
The firm, which has worked with global brands such as Coca-Cola, Mercedes and LVMH, has been selected by the partners behind the development – Cain International, McCourt Global, Galliard Homes, Vance, Investec and The Estate Office Shoreditch – to create the visitor experience set within the archeological remains of the historic The Curtain Playhouse.
The 19,000 sq ft museum is being developed in collaboration with Museum of London Archaeology and Historic England, alongside a panel of Shakespearean academic advisors.
Jonathan Goldstein, CEO of Cain International, said: “The Museum of Shakespeare will bring a unique proposition of culture, entertainment and history to the heart of Shoreditch. We are thrilled to be working with Bompas & Parr to deliver a brilliant experience that will reinforce The Stage’s position as one of the most exciting places in central London to live, work, shop and dine.”
Harry Parr, co-founder of Bompas & Parr said: “We are delighted to be working with Cain and The Stage’s wider investment consortium to create a new cultural attraction with such rich history and potential. The Museum of Shakespeare will be the most ambitious project that Bompas & Parr has undertaken and is in line with our mission to create location-based experiences that make London a more interesting place and a city unrivalled in its cultural importance and reputation for world-class entertainment. This will be Shakespeare as you have never experienced it before.”
