Camden Vision has submitted a planning application to transform an underused site at 180 Arlington Road in Camden Town into a vibrant new mixed-use destination.
Designed by AHMM, the Camden Town Xchange scheme will comprise a new cultural venue, a mix of affordable homes and student bedrooms, plus new restaurants, shops, café space and public realm.
The 1,000 sq m (circa 10,700 sq ft) flexible cultural and leisure space will sit at the heart of the proposed scheme and replaces the former Mecca Bingo unit, which has been vacant since 2024, and the ODEON Camden Parkway cinema, which is scheduled to close in spring 2026.
The planning submission follows extensive consultation with neighbours, residents, businesses and local community groups including four public exhibition events held on-site in June and July.
