Cameron Homes has submitted a detailed planning application for 38 new homes on a two-hectare site at Aston-on-Trent in South Derbyshire.
The underutilised site sits adjacent to Cameron Homes’ Ashwood Grange development, which launched in 2019.
The housebuilder intends to deliver a mix of one- to five-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes on the site, with 11 of the 38 plots allocated for affordable housing. The dwellings will either be single-storey bungalows, or two-storey houses.
John Hickman, group land director for Tara Group and Cameron Homes, said: “We’re really pleased to submit plans for a second site in Aston-on-Trent. Being only five miles from Derby city centre, eight miles from East Midlands Airport and a 40-minute drive into the heart of Leicester, it’s such a popular village with commuters. Our brand is already well established across Derbyshire, with the added bonus that this site is located off the same road as Ashwood Grange.
“Our plans for a quintessential £14m Cameron development of beautifully designed and detailed, energy efficient houses will cater for first time buyers to growing families and downsizers. We will continue to work with council officers, councillors and stakeholders at South Derbyshire District Council as this planning application is considered.”
Roberts Limbrick Architects has been appointed to design the scheme with Pegasus acting as planning consultant.
