CERT has unveiled plans for the first residential phase of the Stretford town centre masterplan, which is being delivered by joint venture partners Trafford Council and Bruntwood.
The developer is preparing detailed proposals for the delivery of 116 properties at Plot 3, which will be arranged around a landscaped communal courtyard.
The development will provide a mix of three-bedroom townhouses, duplexes and one- and two-bedroom apartments.
Stephen Oster, head of acquisitions and development at CERT, said: “After working behind the scenes with our design team, we’re excited to share our vision and invite the community’s feedback on the first residential phase of the Stretford town centre masterplan. This milestone builds on the strong momentum already achieved within the masterplan and reflects our commitment to working hand-in-hand with stakeholders to deliver a development that is bold in ambition and reflects the identity of Stretford.
”CERT’s development will provide much-needed new homes, enhance the local streetscape and create a welcoming communal space in the heart of Stretford, all in line with the ambitious masterplan set out by Trafford Council and Bruntwood.”
Liz Patel, Trafford Council’s executive member for economy and regeneration, added: “Exciting work to transform Stretford town centre is contributing to the area’s growing reputation as a great place to live and we are pleased to see this proposal brought forward. We want as many people as possible to get involved in the consultation, so that community views are heard and considered as developers move towards seeking planning permission.
“This proposal from CERT is part of a much wider joint venture for development in the area. The joint venture is firmly committed to delivering affordable housing as part of this long term transformation. The developer for this early phase would make a significant financial contribution towards affordable housing, to be delivered during the next phases of the plan.”
