Creative workspace provider Eat Work Art has taken on a former WeWork site in Hackney.
The Netil Corner site, which is located on the corner of Mare Street and Westgate Street in London Fields, was previously known as Keltan House and was operated by WeWork before sitting empty for the past two years.
The building, which will offer more than 100 workspaces for creative individuals and businesses, is owned by Hackney Council and sits adjacent to Eat Work Art’s Netil House sister site.
Leo Lawson-O’Neil, founder of Eat Work Art, said: “This is an exciting new chapter for Hackney and I want to thank the council for championing the creative community. Netil Corner is set to offer a great platform for smaller grass-roots businesses to work alongside more established brands in a transformed local space. Coupled with neighbouring Netil House, where 80% of our residents live in Hackney, this is set to become one of the largest communities of creatives.
“This expansion shows that whilst traditional office developments may be declining, there is growing demand for art spaces. Eat Work Art is dedicated to nurturing creativity and contributing to London’s iconic cultural landscape.”
