Firethorn has acquired a £125m+ GDV, 80.2-acre logistics development site in Bardon, Leicestershire, from Diamantem for an undisclosed price.

The site, which is located near Junction 22 of the M1, benefits from detailed planning consent for two logistics units totalling 947,650 sq ft.

The scheme, which will be delivered on a speculative and build-to-suit basis, follows previous phases delivered by Mountpark, which are now occupied by a selection of distribution and manufacturing occupiers.

Alex Schofield, senior director, head of industrial and logistics leasing and development advisory, London and South East, at CBRE, which advised Firethorn on the deal, said: “Bardon represents a rare opportunity to deliver a large-scale, best-in-class logistics development in a highly supply-constrained location. Ideally positioned to meet increasing levels of occupier demand, the site benefits from excellent connectivity to the UK’s core consumer and manufacturing markets, and we look forward to seeing the scheme progress through to practical completion in 2027.”
