A former car dealership site in Doncaster has been sold to a private investor for close to the asking price of £2.25m.

The 2.63 Marshgate site offers almost 25,000 sq ft of commercial space and is currently configured as a purpose-built motor dealership complex with a large, surfaced yard and a communal central area providing 295 parking spaces.

Watling Real Estate and Rapleys were appointed to sell the former premises of Volkswagen and Skoda dealer Hayselden by joint administrators Mark Hodgett and David Acland from FRP Advisory.

Alex Sweetman, a director in the Leeds office of Watling, said: “The site on North Bridge Road, Doncaster, attracted a lot of attention and has been sold to a private investor. The land is designated for employment, so there is an opportunity to repurpose it for other commercial uses, provided the end result will generate jobs.”

The administrators were advised by Womble Bond Dickinson. Newton Solicitors acted for the buyer.
