A four-star country hotel located near Durham has been put on the market for £2.5m.

Set within four acres of landscaped grounds, the 24-bedroom Sixty One hotel is an established wedding and events venue and features an on-site restaurant that seats 46 guests with the option to expand into the Garden Room for an additional 50 covers.

The hotel also features the Village Tavern, which offers a more casual setting for 55 guests, and Venue 61, which can accommodate 180 people for banqueting.

Tom Cunningham, UK regional director, hotel capital markets, at Savills Manchester, which has been appointed to market the opportunity, said: “This is a popular venue set within the rolling countryside of County Durham, offering a boutique feel for guests while also able to accommodate larger events and celebrations. Sixty One’s location makes it ideal for access from the rest of the North East, with Durham itself increasingly sought-after.”
