Argentinian steakhouse brand Gaucho has taken 8,000 sq ft at the St David’s shopping centre in Cardiff, for its first Welsh restaurant.
The brand is opening a restaurant across two floors at The Hayes retail and dining destination within the centre, which can accommodate 220 covers.
Mark Warne, brand account director – F&B and leisure at Landsec, part of The St David’s Partnership which owns the centre, said: “We’re curating a premium offer at St David’s so that we can continue to provide guests with unique experiences which can’t be found elsewhere. With The Ivy, The Ivy Asia and Giggling Squid all making their regional debut on The Hayes, St David’s is fast becoming the premier destination for high end dining in Wales.”
Mike Reid, executive chef at Gaucho, added: “I’m thrilled to be bringing Gaucho to Cardiff, our first restaurant in Wales. I’m excited to bring our signature sustainable steaks and a taste of Argentina to the Cardiff community and look forward to welcoming our first diners.”
