Greater London Authority Land & Property (GLAP) has launched the search for a development partner to deliver two new regeneration opportunities near City Hall in the Royal Docks.
GLAP intends to transform the land close to its East London home into a new workspace cluster.
The 0.5-hectare ‘Plot V’ brownfield site is capable of accommodating circa 15,000 sq m of employment-led space as part of the consented Thameside West Masterplan and the 0.7-hectare ’Flyunder’ site, which is located under the Silvertown Way flyover, could be used as an events space.
Sadiq Khan, mayor of London, said: “The relocation of City Hall to the Royal Docks is acting as a springboard for the regeneration of this historic area, just as the opening of the previous City Hall did for its London Bridge surroundings. The sites close to City Hall offer a unique opportunity to build on this momentum – creating new spaces where people can work, businesses can grow, and communities can thrive. Bringing these sites to life will support local regeneration, create jobs and deliver lasting benefits for local people as we continue to build a better, fairer and more prosperous London for everyone.”
