GLi has received planning permission for a new 76,911 sq ft “ultra-sustainable” warehouse at Park Royal.
PR2 is the second site to be brought forward at Park Royal by GLi – a joint venture between KSP and PATRIZIA. The first site – PR1 – has been pre-let to Classic Fine Foods.
The new warehouse is being developed on a net zero carbon basis and will be 100% electric powered, offer fully equipped car and delivery van EV charging points and will be built to accommodate future battery storage.
David Johnson, chief executive officer at KSP, said: “We are delighted to be able to move forward on this ground-breaking, sustainable industrial unit in such a fantastic location so close to Central London. Its construction will help support the local economy and job creation and the unit will provide future occupiers with an ultra-sustainable building adhering to strict energy efficiency targets. Our schemes will also allow businesses to lower their energy costs, while supporting the environment.”
Luke LeBrun, director, asset management at PATRIZIA, added: “In order to meet the challenges posed by rapid urbanisation and the demand to decarbonise, we must deliver logistics assets that truly place sustainability at their heart. Our GLi platform aims to deliver best-in-class urban logistics properties in key parts of London from the ground up, which will play a key role in serving Londoners in a cleaner, more efficient way that drives maximum value for all stakeholders.”
