Greenham Trust has appointed Patrick Smith from Frogmore as its new chief executive.
Smith, who has more than 36 years of experience across UK real estate investment, development and asset management, spent almost three decades at Fromore as part of the senior leadership team.
Greenham Trust owns and manages Greenham Business Park and a wider portfolio of real estate assets in West Berkshire and North Hampshire. Income generated from the assets supports the trust’s charitable activities, with the trust distributing more than £85m to local good causes since its foundation in 1997.
Smith said: “Although I have spent most of my professional career in London, I grew up in and around Newbury, so this very much feels like coming home. Greenham Trust is unlike any other organisation I have come across. It combines a successful property business with a genuine commitment to improving the lives of local people, and that is an incredibly exciting opportunity.
“What particularly attracted me is that every commercial success creates the ability to do more for the community. Every successful letting, every development completed and every investment we make ultimately creates more opportunities to support local people and communities.
“The trust already has an exceptional reputation and a unique model that combines long-term stewardship of property with long-term investment in people and communities. I look forward to working with the trustees, staff, tenants and our many partners to build on those foundations and ensure the trust continues to create lasting benefits across West Berkshire and north Hampshire for many years to come.”
Charles Brims, chairman of trustees at Greenham Trust, added: “We are delighted to welcome Paddy to Greenham Trust. His extensive experience in real estate investment, development and asset management, together with his strategic outlook and commitment to community impact, make him exceptionally well placed to lead the trust through its next phase of development. Paddy’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter as we continue to strengthen our property portfolio and grow the charitable impact we deliver across our local communities.”
