Sustainable developer igloo Regeneration has appointed spatial practitioner and former architect Sarah Wigglesworth to its Footprint Advisory Board (FAB).
Wigglesworth replaces Sunand Prasad who is stepping down after 12 years of service as a FAB member.
Wigglesworth, who trained as an architect and founded her own practice in 1993, has collaborated with igloo on several projects including Bermondsey Square and Trent Basin in Nottingham.
FAB, which has been in action for 15 years, brings “external perspectives, expertise and constructive challenge” to igloo’s projects across the UK, scrutinising the effectiveness of the implementation of igloo’s Footprint process.
Developed by igloo, the bespoke framework for sustainable development is structured around six core dimensions: circular, climate, community, place, wellbeing and nature.
Wigglesworth said: “I have always admired igloo’s approach to long-term investment and quality, and their passion to inspire the industry into upholding sustainable practices. I also appreciate the fact that their work extends nationally and I’m therefore able to use my role on the board to apply my professional knowledge and help drive positive change up and down the country.
“Change must come from the top down, lobbying those in power, and bottom up, seeking allies in communities. Housing is a human right, and we must collectively reflect on and challenge our ways of thinking – embedding health and wellbeing from the outset. If anyone is going to change the status quo, it is igloo, and I’m delighted to be on board.”
